Poised for its inaugural launch in September 2024, GradMapper is set to become an annual research and reporting service which will analyse the academic backgrounds of business sector ‘high flyers’ across ten job roles in the UK. The research will provide valuable insights into the academic choices that led these people to success.
In the quarter commencing July 2024, and annually thereafter, 50,000 of the latter group will be studied. The findings and trends will then be published each September as an annual report – and in a database that can be interrogated in a variety of ways and grow over time.
The information is being gathered from across 20,000 online sources– including survey and feedback forms, industry directories for events such as conferences and trade fairs, business databases, social media and the press. The results will give a comprehensive picture of what academic route these ‘high flyers’ took to business success – mapping where they came from, what business role and sector they occupy now, and who statistically they are (by gender/location/age range), while retaining their anonymity.
Using a range of filters, the GradMapper database can be interrogated to give information on:

The data can be diced and spliced in different ways by educational institutions, students, graduates and the media for a range of purposes, allowing them to
- Compare and contrast the number of people from particular universities who have reached senior roles in industry
- Determine the popularity of different degree subjects
- Pinpoint which degree subjects are largely associated with particular job roles
- Conduct gender comparisons
- Analyse which universities and/or degree subjects are associated with particular business sectors.
